The Hamilton Company Charitable Foundation was created in 2011 by Harold Brown, late founder and chairman emeritus of The Hamilton Company.

The Hamilton Company Charitable Foundation’s goal is to provide support for local 501( c) (3) organizations which serve the community with many providing educational, recreational and other services to urban and suburban youth.  Annual funding is over $3,000,000 per year.  Board members are Harley Oliver Brown, Jameson Brown, Maura Nolan Brown, Ronald Brown, Andrea Kozinetz and Fredrick Lebow.  Ronald Brown is the chairman.

Past and current charities supported include, but are not limited to:  The West End House, Franciscan Childrens, Massachusetts General Hospital, Cradles to Crayons, The Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation and scholarship programs at various local colleges and universities.

Preference is given to communities where The Hamilton Company does business.  Specific areas of focus are Allston, Brighton, Brookline and Greater Boston.  Requests for donations are made through an application process.  Deadlines for 2024 grant applications are January 15, April 15, July 15, October 15 and December 15.


There is one application for requests over $1000.  A very brief summary application is required for requests up to $1000.
