A new residential building at 601 Albany St. in Boston is ready for occupancy, said the building's developer, the Boston-based Hamilton Co.
Built for $15 million on a previously vacant lot whose corner was once home to a window repair shop, 601 Albany features 40 one-bedroom and two-bedroom rental apartments, with rents ranging from $1,750 to $2,400 per month, said Hamilton.
Hamilton added that the building, which is located at the corner of Albany and East Canton streets, is 40 percent "pre-leased," with the first tenants already moving in.
“We feel that there will be strong demand first and foremost because of our location,” Hamilton chairman and chief executive Harold Brown said in a statement.
Long one of Boston's largest landlords, Brown added, “We are delivering the first ever rental community to Albany Street, at a convenient location nearby a biomedical research and business office park in Boston’s South End.”
